Amongst the starkly beautiful landscapes of North Yorkshire, it is the raw and often harsh natural qualities of the skies and moor that draw me in as a painter. I am also fascinated by the intermingling of natural and man-made features - how the historical past touches the landscape and gradually merges with natural form in residual undulations and stone.
